I am getting a border collie puppy, and I don't know what to name her.
She is black and white with tan points.
I'd like something short, or something that can be shortened...unique but not fancy (my other collie is a male named "Padre," and I like that name immensely, if that helps).

So, what should I name her?

What puppy names do you like?

If your other dog is called 'Padre' you should call the new one 'Pio'.

She's a girl, so maybe, Pia? That's cute!

Umbria

It's certainly Italian. Would that be considered a girl name?

I would use it a feminine name, since it ends with an "a".

*going by current Romance language standards, there are plenty of masculine names that end with an "a".

We used to have a dog named Kim. I have a lot of affection for that name because she was such a sweet dog.

You could name her Angel - after Mother Anjelica (sp)

Mama Mia would be cute and shortened to Mama or Mia

Well a guy who died on the titanic seriously had a dog named kitty and the dog stood bravely by his side to the end. :)

Patches, Spice, Callie, Lassie, or I like Bailey.

Well, Saint Padre Pio has always been one of my favorite Saints, and since the first one is named Padre, you should name this one Pio.
