So Fr Pontifex, years and years ago, told me about this set of books, to help me with my daily prayer life. I really love them, but have been bad at having the discipline to actually use them every day.

So, in addition to giving up something for Lent, I'm going to make a commitment to use these books every day.

They are divided into morning, afternoon, and evening reflections, and coincide with the liturgical calendar.

Word… those are great meditations for Catholic lay people. Whoever doesn't have a set should also try looking on eBay for a slightly used set… that's where I bought mine for less than half the price.

I have seen that set advertised in Leaflet and Autom magazines. I have been drooling over them. I think if I get any money for my birthday they will have to be religious oriented items. Looks wonderful. And just think...you can pass them down from generation to generation. :)

A friend recommended this to me recently. Another friend has the set, so I'm going to check it out...

Did you know that the original is in Spanish? Called "Hablar con Dios"? (I didn't -- if I had I would have gotten it in the original spanish).

I was with a spanish speaking friend of mine and the translation is great ... we both agreed (I translated back in spanish in real time) that the mediations were deep.

So ... I went online and searched. There is a webpage ... and the spanish version is available for reading daily (a daily meditiation is available.

I looked in english, and it looks like the link is not up to date -- but there's always a chance that they will get the full english text on the website.

The website (in english) is:
http://www.hablarcon.../en/default.asp

And for those of you who do speak spanish, the daily readings are here (and yes they are the same readings in English in In Conversation with God"):
