There is nothing wrong with having Viagra. The point is that Rush Limbaugh either enjoys admiring his own erect penis or was having extramarital sex in the Dominican Republic. Which would strike some as hypocritical given his comments about liberalism and libertinism and his comments about this young silly sally he's been condemning lately. Which is also hypocritical is illegally obtaining drugs when you regularly condemn illegal drug use. To say nothing of the help he accepted from the ACLU to defend the privacy rights to avoid prosecution which he and other right-wing commentators regularly claim do not exist.
You are addressing only the hypocrasy of Rush's comments on the virture (or lack) of Ms. Fluke. It's totally irrelevant to the political debate as we had discussed previously.
As far as the principle question, at least Rush is paying for his own Viagra, either out of his pocket or the insurance he pays. He's not asking taxpayers to subsidize the cost of his Viagra.

You need to check your facts my friend, he was married at the time to Marta, something or another, I can not remember her name. I do remember the incident you are referring to, and he stated he was on viagra at the prompting of his wife, who traveled with extensively. He probably still needs it as he is remarried again.

This incident occured in 2006. His marriage to Martha ended in 2004.

That's a substantial part yes, which men aren't allowed to have an opinion, and women aren't allowed to have a dissenting opinion because if we don't believe in the sacred right to abortion then we secretly must hate ourselves or lack self-awareness, even though the early feminists spoke out against abortion.
That's a vague claim. That depends on who you consider a feminist and which of those are 'early'
Also the general response to the problem of double-standards being "we should be able to behave as badly as men" rather than "men should be raised to the standards imposed on us" is pretty lame.
There is not a single logically valid argument for God's existence. The Bible is an agglomeration of various ancient texts hammered out into a single narrative. There is almost certainly no such thing as an immortal soul, as modern neuroscience has pretty well demonstrated.

You standards come from a religious text who intellectual, as well as moral, foundations are laughable. There's nothing wrong with sex. There's no need for a Priest to make it licit through a supposed Sacrament. If you want to believe, against all evidence, that somehow your faith is believable, then fine, but stop acting like women's rights need to be secured on a sexually neurotic faith-based foundation.

Is telling the truth throwing stones? He used foul language about a woman who has a mother and a father, and who needed birth control. What is hard for me to live with in this Church as a women is what do 164 single, assumably celibate men know about women? Don't forget that Pope Benedict okayed the use of condoms with a special emphasis for male prostitutes (how many of those are there??), to prevent HIV. Hate to break it down here, but women's issues are generally internal. . . And the pill can help some, the IUD can help some, and for me, as a Catholic woman, who had a hysterectomy at 39 to keep from bleeding to death, and dying of cramps, with vomiting because my uterine lining was too thick and I was bleeding into my abdominal cavity, was proof God exists. I am grateful to the slew of Catholic doctors in Catholic hospitals, who worked for nearly 20 years to find a solution to the problem. Contraception isn't a ticket to free sex, they are too often a matter of saving a life.

I really don't know much about this, and I really don't care. I neither like or dislike Rush Limbaugh.

One day as I was driving, I was skipping stations to find something to listen to, and I stopped on talk radio right as a caller was asking Rush about his addiction to oxycontin and his time in rehabilitation. What I heard in the following minutes was a very (in)famous celebrity publicly confess his faults and bare his soul. He did so in complete and unhindered transparency, and to a very large listening audience. He must have taken a good 15 minutes to do so.

Every time I hear criticism and/or ridicule of Rush, I cannot help but weigh that against that sincere public confession that I heard that day.

Just a bit of oversimplification about that particular document.

The principle of double effect can make the use of birth control pills acceptable. No one is denying that.

164 men adhere to the word of God in matters of faith and morals. If you have a problem with that, argue with God.

1)Rush Limbaugh should not have insulted silly sallies and prostitutes by drawing an analogy between them and Ms. Sandra Fluke.
Many of those women are under some kind of coercion to behave as they do, and even when not, they are not stealing from others, nor infringing on our first amendment rights. Prostitution is not the kind of tyranny, nor dealing of death, that Ms. Fluke espouses. The comparison was not fitting, or accurate. I do not apologize for my low opinion of Sandra Fluke's behavior. She has made herself a public figure, and so her behavior is open for this kind of discussion.

2) Rush Limbaugh issued an apology, for applying those words, not because he was worried about profits. He has many advertisers waiting in line. These advertisers are shuffled on a regular basis, for economic reasons as well as reasons of his controversial content. Three of the national advertisers who left are now begging to get back in. Rush very likely genuinely regretted lowering himself to the level of leftist discourse.

3)None of the respondents will understand Limbaugh's style, content, or messages by listening to clips, listening to what the rabidly pro-abortion ABC network has to say about him, or by listening to others who don't listen to the Large one.

4)Limbaugh has been defending freedom of religion, and Life itself, decades before the U.S. Catholic Bishops addressed these problems in America. I give him credit for his priescence, courage, and tenacity.
