Well, that's true, but I don't think that's why they're making us wear them.Some people can't afford a nice confirmation dress.

While I like the modesty idea, I think it will only contribute to further make people view this as "Catholic graduation."Yes we want pictures, and actually I was thinking it sounded like a rather nice idea. Sometimes people don't always wear the most modest dresses for confirmation.
Probably because in tv shows they always show weird new age-y stuff with people wearing robes when they have ceremonies. Though, priests also wear robes. But they are not (always) ugly and ridiculous looking.I was just joking. Anytime I hear about that I chuckle. Great idea, but it just makes me think of New Age stuff for some reason. haha

My shoes came off during Mass, too, but that's another story. Put simply, I was a mess at Confirmation.
