My cousin is getting confirmed. I want to get her something, because we are "Godsisters" (we share the same Godparents, and we've always been close). I want it to be something unique, since I'm guessing grandparents/parents/sponsor will cover the usual stuff. Any suggestions?

Idk if she would want a coffee mug, but I might just have to get her a t-shirt. Who knows, she may join us here. She apparently likes MLP...

Have Mass offered for her at the National Bascilica in Washington DC, or make a donation in her name to a religious order like the Sisters of Mary Mother of Eucharist in Ann Arbor so they will pray for her.

If I did that, I'd have to donate to the Nashville Dominicans. Don't want my sister to be jealous. ;) But that's a good suggestion. Thanks. :)

I bought this: http://www.catholict...nce-Wall-Plaque for the girl I sponsored last year. They have bunches of other things, too. I had a hard time deciding what to get her, what would be most appropriate for where she is in life, etc. And I don't know of any Catholic shops around this area, so I defaulted on my brother in law's business. He didn't let me down. lol I just looked until I found something that my heart settled on for her (I know, it sounds really silly. Don't laugh at me.)

The National Shrine offers a perpetual enrollment in Masses. I think it's fifty dollars or so. They have a couple other options that you can find on the website or by calling.

If you get something like a T-shirt or make a donation in her honor, think about getting something like a nice candle holder or something else that she can keep permanently.... and let her know that you are giving it to her so she will always remember the Holy Spirit lives in her like a candle flame or something... those kinds of things girls are likely to keep when they get older...

When my niece was confirmed, she chose the name "Theresa." I asked her which one, and she said she didn't know there WAS more than one (oh brother!). I made her a collage of ALL the faces of as many 'saints and blesseds' Teresa/Theresa as I could find, and included a small mirror in the mix. I told her that if she worked at it, the face of the next 'saint' teresa was right there... and positioned the collage in front of her so she saw herself....

She LOVED it....

I'm being Confirmed in a few weeks and my sponsor says she has no idea what she's going to get me, lol...

Here are a few unique things that I thought were pretty razzle dazzle:

http://www.monastery...y_Miscellaneous (Pricey, but way razzle dazzle.)

http://www.monastery...nstal_Truffles_ (Every girl needs some good old chocolate. Super razzle dazzle since it's made by Benedictines...)

http://www.monastery...Icons_of_Saints or http://www.monastery...Icons_of_Saints (But I'm biased. ;))

I'd actually go online and get her the medal of the saint she's choosing as her confirmation saint. Actually they had this razzle dazzle device that put two medals together back to back....you could do yours and hers and get one for you too...

Money is sometimes a gift idea as well. Maybe give her a gift card where she really likes going to.

"The Imitation of Mary" by Alexander De Rouville Revised and edited by Matthew J. O'Connell.
It was given to me as a young girl receiving Confirmation. It is a good read and is something she can keep with her
throughout her entire life. She will reference it more than once too.

Hope this helps!

I was going to suggest a replica of St. Joan of Arc's sword, but no one knows what it looks like so there are no decent replications of it so maybe an travel icon or triptych. Something like this

Paying to send her on retreat could be a nice idea. Ask her to choose the retreat. She could go with you, or go alone.

Who is her confirmation saint?
