CRAZY DOPE POST, YO!

Please pray for me as I have been accepted to go on a retreat with the beautiful Benedictines of Mary (a feat in an of itself given my age, Canadianinity, and past religious life experience) and am praying about dates - wont be until the fall at least but I am excited and nervous!

And for those who haven't seen these beautiful videos I stumbled upon enjoy!

They are wonderful! Tell them that the girl who visited on Valentine's day says hello if you get a chance :)

Regarding "a feat in an of itself given my age...", how old are you? If I may ask!

Praying for you! I've never heard of this particular order so I visited their website - they sound like a very beautiful and humble community.

May the Lord fill you with His strength and peace as you continue on your journey forwards. God bless.

Oy vey! Sounds like we are in almost the same boat. I didn't get my calling until I was 24 and I'm going to be 29 in July. One order said that if I wanted to enter, I needed to enter within the next year or so or I'd reach their cut-off! My friend is 52 and just entered a religious order in New England. She had the worst problem trying to contact orders because, once they heard her age, they told her there was no way they would consider her.

She tried to go to England last year but her health deteriorated because of an autoimmune disorder. She left them and then was accepted to 2 orders. The one she just entered was one of the ones she contacted about 4 or 5 months before she left and her email kept circling and got lost until she returned. It was so weird. I'm really happy that she found a place in the USA. :)

MM, would you be kind enough to tell me the two orders that accepted your friend? Since I am 'mature', I would be very grateful to you. Thanks.

There were actually three:

Benedictines of Grace and Compassion

Sisters of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity

Sisters of Charity of Our Lady Mother of the Church

Hope this helps! :)

I have 2 questions here:
1) Does anyone knows what happened to Sr Therese, one of the founder of the Benedictines of Mary Queen of Apostles?

2) I am in Quebec Canada, a bishop may help us for a new religious traditional community foundation. If you know any serious women interested please let me know. When time arrive, I can give you the name of the bishop and you may contact him to make sure of the references ... because we never know what can happen from the web. The community may be benedictine, or Dominican. or... God know's what...
