Does any one have any insight into this supposed prophesy?

As far as I know mystics and saint alike have talked about the so called 3 days of darkness. Three days when the demons of hell will be set loose upon the world. Nothing technological will work and there will be no light of anykind except for that of blessed candles. Anyone out in the world no inside and praying for God's mercy will be horrible attacked and killed by the demons.

Sounds actually like it could make for a really razzle dazzle movie...but what validity is put in this prophesy? Anybody?

Hard to say really. It's mentioned in the Old and New Testaments and it even has its own website (who doesn't? :)
nope

I used to know some people who were worried about it back in the seventies. One guy wondered if he would be able to light his blessed candles with matches that weren't blessed. I wonder that too. He hasn't found out either. Not to be flippant, but seems like the details are from private revelations and who really knows? Since it's in Scripture it will happen someday.

My first response to this would probably be to get my brown pantaloons! My second would be to find my sword! ITS GO TIME!
Sadly the fighter in me would most likely make me meet a terrible and gruesome end on a day like this...:D Any who, I've never seen this before but it sounds interesting. Was there any signs mentioned for the days approach? Would kind of smell of elderberries to walk outside and suddenly find it still dark...

Skinzo, that link you supply is to an ultra-traditionalists seda-vacantist group. IT is not something worth reading... especially when they use the "3 days of darkness" to emphasize that the true Catholic church is in exile and the Pope is not the true Vicar of Christ....

There's a lot of rubbish out there about the three days of darkness. As regards the candles I don't think God will fuss about whether we have blessed matches. God will provide. I do believe that it'll happen but perhaps not as we expect.

I was really into this in the past. Now I think worrying about it is just silly.

Where is it in Scripture? I thought it was only private revelation...

I'm sorry Dominican Soul, I actually didn't read enough of it to see that. My mistake.

There will be no demon slaying, unfortunately, as God said anybody who peaks outside will die instantly so as to save their eyes from the horrors that will be occurring.

Jesus speaks of a period of darkness but doesn't mention three days of it (Mat.24:29-31), same thing in Acts 2:20 and Mark 13:24. It was the tenth plague against Egypt in Exodus 10:22. There are other scriptural references too.
I agree it is silly to worry about it. One should just pray and be prepared for anything that might happen. God will take care of those who live in His grace. OK, I'm off to get the candles!

I believe the sun will be darkened and the moon turn blood red, there will be no mercy/grace recieved from Greater sins and the grace/mercy granted to lesser sins will be diminished greatly, there will be no protection from the demons pleasure of tormenting somone whom commits a greater sin and less protection for someone whom commits a lesser one. Thats my take on the matter anyway.

:rip: the end of the world(of sin) :reaper: and being tormented by demons ain't so fun.

I was really disappointed when I read that. Well let me go put up my sword and take off my armor...

your sword will be the holy word, and your breast plate the holy sacraments and your helmet of righteousness the holy rosary, and your dagger prayer.

The only actual reference to 3 days of darkness I know of from the old testament when God told noah to extend his hand and a darkness will cover the land, and he (noah) extended his hand and 3 days of darkness enveloped the land and no one moved from their place or seen their brother, but the sons of egypt were enveloped in light.

The stories you talk about come from prophecies of two recent saints, early 20th century, there is also mention of having blessed salt, and the candles must be made of pure beeswax as any other kind will not burn. These were the prohecies of 2 saints recognized by the Church as such. Thats all I gots....

Honestly, ultra-traddies are more into this stuff than normal Catholics. Probably the majority of information you can find on the 3 days online will be from ultra-traddie goups.
