I love flying! Feeling the wind rushing past your body and great views, much better than walking.

Me too. Or go by water.

If I were flying it'd be another story. It's a combination of the lack of control and the height. I just hate being 30,000 feet up waiting 10 hours for my death cylinder to plummet to the ground. Fortunately I'm not going on an American airline so it might be a half-way decent flight.

I don't mind flying. I do hate ascending and descending. Descending is the worst part of it. It's also the part that makes my kids vomit. Doubly nerve wracking.

Turkey. Then finding a place to stay in Turkey for a few days and meet up with some other people who are also in my group that's going to Bosnia. Realistically, taking long train from Turkey to Bosnia is much more dangerous than flying but that doesn't really bother me at all. The flight does. I don't get in a panic or anything but I'm just going to be tense and apprehensive for 10 hours.

That's a legitimate fear. Thankfully, my viscerally anti-Kurdish publications should keep me in the good graces of the Turkish authorities.

I'm hoping to start using alcohol to attain this attitude. Not a good idea for a flight going into Turkey. But domestically, at least.

My daughter is about to take her seventh trip to Texas in 27 months. I sure hope she doesn't develop a fear of flying.

I used to have it too.

You can die falling into your bath tub. At least 30000ft makes it quick. And fly Air Emirates, Terrorists don't blow up their own planes.

I actually love flying...I just hate the TSA. Flying, to me, always means something happy is happening and I am going somewhere I want to be. I fly a LOT and when I travel I usually take a minimum of 3 flights each way (ATL to Vancouver is not a short trip). However, I always fly the same airline and am racking up the frequent flier miles. I'm also going to be joining the club of my chosen airline so I'll have a nice place to relax and have good alcohol during my travels. I try to overlook the negatives of flying and just remember it's a means to an end, and that end is a happy one. :)

Actually, Bosnia is a pretty sad place. First you promise me cookies. Then you hurl ethnic slurs against my grandmother. And now you mock me when I try to let myself become emotionally vulnerable and open up about some of my insecurities. Why are you so mean????

I'm not impressed with American Airlines. I have been to Europe Twice flying into Heathrow in London. One of them was American Airlines. It sucked big time. The other time was British Airways. British Airways was AMAZING!!! The first time I went to Europe I stayed in London and flew from and to the US on British airways. When I went to Italy I flew into Heathrow on American (ugh) and then to Milan on British Airways. Everytime I flew with British airways they were fantastic.

Lets just say British people make me happy.

I used to make lots of short flights, in a number of different type planes. I've made literally hundreds of flights. I had developed a fear of flying due to some unpleasant experiences.

Alcohol, along with reminding myself of reason, helped a lot. I eventually got over my fears. Alcohol can be inexpensive chemical therapy.
