I doubt that she did. The question is what she will do now.

I pay money to watch that!

Yup, it is legit.

I think it's outrageous on so many levels. He should thank Biden.

The GOP should thank Biden possibly.

"President Obama has no control over his government. His Vice President forced him to embrace the war on traditional marriage. Vote for Mitt Romney, because we can't afford the weak leadership of a man who can't even control his Vice President."

I could be mistaken, but from what I can tell, this isn't about Obama 'coming out'.

I think this is really more about which magazine is going to steal this week's headlines, Time with its nursing mother cover or Newsweek with the above cover.....

This is just another over-the-top approval article by a gay activist of his pro-same-sex marriage stance:

http://www.syracuse...._barack_ob.html

The issue hit newsstands just four days after TIME Magazine printed a cover depicting a 26-year-old mother breastfeeding her 3-year-old son for a story on attachment parenting. The provocative image apparently stirred up a rivalry between the two publications -- according to the New York Post, Newsweek editor-in-chief Tina Brown saw the breastfeeding cover and said, "Let the games begin."

"If President Clinton was the ‘first black president’ then Obama earns every stripe in that ‘gaylo’ with last week’s gay marriage proclamation. Newsweek’s cover pays tribute to his newly ordained place in history," Brown told Politico, referencing a famous quote by novelist Toni Morrison regarding Clinton.

Magazine expert and University of Mississippi professor Samir Husni told The Los Angeles Times that while he applauded TIME's cover for being "edgy and provocative," he disapproved of Newsweek's choice because it used visual gimmicks to make a point. He added that he wished the news magazine would stick to facts and reality.

Before we go too far off the deep end, I think we had better be clear on the facts.

Exactly.

(By the way, I don't like Obama, I have no intention of voting for him, but I don't think starting wild rumors about anyone is a fair way to sell magazines. Call me old fashioned....)

Newsweek is such a joke.

I don't think they intended to start rumors, though. The title is obviously a callback to Clinton's title as the supposed 'first black President'.

This whole thing was planned down to the last detail. The pollsters must have concluded that he'd gain support from gay marriage supporters and not lose support from gay marriage non-supporters (who already don't support him).

He sent Biden out to float a test balloon - if the reaction was strongly negative, Biden would've taken the flack.

Since the reaction was not strongly negative, the president came out in support of gay marriage, and the media are anointing - possibly even canonizing him.

Politics as theater, that's all.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. Let's count the ways.

1- There is nothing to support the idea that the administration orchestrated Biden's remarks. Nobody who watched the press secretary's pathetic attempts to reconcile the administrations desire not to repudiate Biden's remarks with Obama's claimed ideological evolution could possibly believe this.

2-All the reports say that Obama and the wise men were pissed at Biden. As they should have been. See below

3- The timing sucked as my glorious state had only days before supported by a 20 point margin an Amendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions.
