I am working the the graphic designer who is producing the cover for my next book due out in fall. The book is going to be "Conflict Proof Your Parish." my two ideas so far are a clerical shirt done up in referee shirt stripes or a cross with a referee whistle hanging on it.

Just thought I'd ask for input from my Pham.

I like the "drop your current designer and hire me," option. :)

Put the priest (perhaps faceless) in a referee-striped clerical shirt, and hang both a whistle and a clerical cross around his neck and down his shirt.

(The old: Catholicism is not about either-or, it's about both-and.)

Who is the intended readership and what is the book about? Wouldn't you want the cover to attract the first and project the second?

The book is about conflict resolution in the Church and is geared towards people who work in or for the church

Works for my publisher, not me. I have veto power, but not firing power.

Then the cleric shirt w stripes is out. Though cooler looking, it would make me think is directed towards clerics. The coss with the refs whistle is directed towards lay people in a religious situation. (just my opinion)

A priest holding two people who were obviously fighting. He has them lifted off the ground, and is holding them by their throats.

The ultimate peacemaker/reconciler in a parish is the pastor.

After reading the title of the thread, for a second I thought you were going to be a secret agent and we were going to help you set up your new identity.

Let's be real, it's not like any of us would be that surprised. You've done everything else under the sun

People joke that getting married in Canada and changing my name is a form of witness protection. He loves telling PR people that my photos can't be on press releases because I have a price in my head.
