CRAZY DOPE POST, YO!

I reckon original founder James Cash Penney, devout Christian that he was, would be thrilled. Absolutely thrilled. :|

The states continue to roll out the defense of marriage......and stores still feel compelled to act by their lost compass.

The meddling of businesses into the morals of society is dangerous in that businesses will decide what morals we follow......in essence, they will dictate our belief system.

Ad reads this:

"First Pals: What makes Dad so cooI? He's the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver - all rolled into one. Or two."

Nope. Didn't get that part at all until I read the comments.

Who shops at JC Penny anyway? Women and gay men. I don't think I've ever heard of any straight man who's ever bought an article of clothing from there.

My dad has clothes from JC Penny, and he's straight. Then again, my mom probably bought it for him...

Right. I'm sure my mom or girl gave me something that was purchased at JCP. But I've never bought any clothes from there, though I think one of our throw pillows are from there.

When I went into the convent 30 years ago, a lot of odder convent stuff came from JCP..... being from somewhat warmer climes, I hadn't heard of 'flannel sheets' until then....

Well...I won't be going to jcpenny anytime soon, I guess. I don't even think there's one very near me anyway.

Businesses are more of a reflection if social mores than a innovator. Penney is just reflecting what's accepted more than initiating a change. At least it is presenting parenthood as caring for children instead of a Pride Rally portraying SSA as a sexual freak lifestyle.
