I've been on this sandbar for a few years now. I visit New Orleans periodically; if fact, I'll be there next weekend.

If you really like beer, I'd recommend Flying Saucer in Houston or Brew's Brothers in Galveston. They both have excellent selections.

I second the recommendation of the Flying Saucer! Had a lot of fun there a couple of years ago, and I'm not even *that* into beer.
