This is just to answer your attack on me in the post about modesty, by the way I have never heard of that movie, I assumed it was x-rated as it was stated it was about a male prostitute, my bad. This was your post, sorry but I did not know how else to post it using the multi-quote thing always get messed up when I try it.

Not that he doesn't deserve it or anything...When you say things like he says, you're asking for some people to disagree with you -- and probably strongly. He's made some pretty wild statements, and I'm surprised that anyone else is surprised by the backlash.
Ed Normile, on 17 July 2012 - 08:12 PM, said:So you girls are in complete agreement that you are all just as visually stimulated as men, and I thought women were the thinkers, my bad. I guess you girls have evolved into testosterone crazed beings just like men, congratulations, you've come a long way baby! What possesses you to make such wild and ridiculous statements? And why, when women comment to say that we aren't what you are saying we are, do you assume we are testosterone crazed? We can have physical and emotional reactions to visual stimuli without being men, without being addicted to sex, and WITHOUT SHAME. We are not what people say we are -- not all of us -- and it's perfectly okay. God made us sexual creatures too, and despite popular teaching, a good majority actually ARE turned on by visual encounters.
There also exist men who need more than just a still image to get off. Would you believe me if I told you there are men who can't floopy a blow-up doll and be satisfied?! IT'S TRUE!!
eta: By the way, it's probably not unfair to assume that women have always been this way. It's probably just been so taboo to admit, they never have. A lot is changing, a lot of old taboo subjects are being discussed. I don't like or condone the reading of explicit material, but sometimes I wonder if we don't do ourselves a serious disservice by not talking about this more openly and in a larger form. Sex is good and we should be able to talk about it without shame or guilt or fear.
We wouldn't have nearly the number of sex columnists we have if people (1) knew more about what is ACTUALLY normal and (2) weren't so afraid to talk about sex and relationships.

Ed Normile, on 17 July 2012 - 08:40 PM, said:Movement was spearheaded by lesbians, and I just have this feeling that lesbians are " abnormal " but again, thats just old fashioned me...How do you feel about gay men? Do you feel threatened by lesbians? Are they the reason our nation is failing or flailing? Are you one of those strange creatures that believes all lesbian women choose to be that way? What about gay men? What else do you blame on lesbians?
Ed Normile, on 17 July 2012 - 09:33 PM, said:I was wrong to think there were no thinkers left among women, you have come to the conclusuon that I am a rude jerk as I think lesbians are abnormal? I also see that in your haste to judge me as rude you imagined/invented I somewhere stated all young women are disrespectful, spoken like a true disciple of the american school system! Its good to see that the teachers are doing a superlative job training the youth what to think these days. Back when us rude jerks were taught, we were encouraged to learn how to think, not just accept what is taught as truth. As far as my thinking all young women are jerks, you could not be further from the truth and your ignorance of me as a father of a young independant woman, engaged to be married to a fine young catholic gentleman, having over 35 neices and growing up with 3 sisters I well know what real ladies are, and how they act and behave. perhaps in the future , before you base an inept judgement on something you thought you read, maybe you could take the time to read the post again, slowly, so you could comprehend it, and ask yourself, gee, where did he say "all young women are disrespectful". That is an amazing leap coming from a comment on two 20 something girls who flirted with my adult son.1. I don't think the poster implied you believe all women are jerks.
2. Your generalizations make it seem as if you really believe all women have just gone nuts.
3. You said those 20-something "girls" were your son's age, so then they're adults too. Also, they're not girls; they're women.
Oh, and the American school system taught me how to use punctuation. Not a complete failure, huh?
Ed Normile, on 17 July 2012 - 09:58 PM, said:Cmother, what part of my post are you referring too, or is it just jump on the bandwagon as I insulted the feminist movement? I mean these one-liners although cute are meaningless, and should be beneath one so offended, afterall early feminists marched, burned their bras, condemned the catholic church, and encouraged lesbian love and free sex and abortion, yet all you can offer is a cutesy retort without a single example of what I have said to draw this out of you.1. I'd love to see you grow real boobs and wear a bra all day. Sure they burned their bras to elicit a response, but I think probably a large majority of the female population would like to burn their bras every once in a while.
2. The anger you are drawing out of so many women is mostly from some of the ignorant comments you've made. You might think that because you've grown up around a lot of women that you GET IT, but clearly you don't. You are saying some really silly things and not listening to any woman whose experience contradicts what you share as being truth.
Ed Normile, on 17 July 2012 - 10:41 PM, said:You're kidding, right? Who would watch a movie about a male prostitute, dare I say this is an abnormal movie aimed at morally bankrupt persons? Not passing judgement on any woman, but who in their right mind would fork over $12 dollars to see an x-rated movie. It's not x-rated.

That was MissScripture. Isn't she a doll?
I had to answer this as its so unbeleivably rude, crude and outright filthy, especially coming from a moderator of Phatmass ! First off I guess you have experience with " There also exist men who need more than just a still image to get off. Would you believe me if I told you there are men who can't floopy a blow-up doll and be satisfied?! IT'S TRUE!!" what a crude thing to say, do you speak with your mother like that? I assume they have the fiddler just for posts like these. I also am surprised at your sinking to such a low analogy as this in your moment of anger, or revenge.
Do you think I said that sex was not good or normal, or a gift from God?
You also said "calling people names never earned anyone respect" I sure hope this is a learning moment for you and others who posted in the thread as I referred to feminists as "hags" and was called names by several people here.
You also wrote " eta: By the way, it's probably not unfair to assume that women have always been this way." Probably true, but at one time there were women who ascribed to decency and morality.
You also wrote something about my generalizations, wow, after reading all your generalizations fabricated from my post I am amazed you even dared too trod there !
Another gem from you "I'd love to see you grow real boobs and wear a bra all day." I sincerely hopes that happens for you too .
I wrote "I guess you girls have evolved into testosterone crazed beings just like men" this was an attempt to convey the levity of my post. I was having a blast and really did not mean to get you so angry, man, err, woman did you ever blow a gasket, you used profanity, accused me of hating women, hating lesbians, blaming everything on lesbians, you actually seriously asked me "How do you feel about gay men? Do you feel threatened by lesbians? Are they the reason our nation is failing or flailing? Are you one of those strange creatures that believes all lesbian women choose to be that way? What about gay men? What else do you blame on lesbians?" I truly beleive that homosexuality is an abberation. As for my punctuation, its as bad as my typing, I am a one finger typist afterall, heck at my age I am lucky to be able to see the keyboard.
I did not mean to degenerate you so, and for this I sincerely want to say,
Franciscanheart, please forgive me for bringing this out in you, I am sorry and did not mean to lead you to this. Take this as you wish but I did mean it, and I am truly sorry.
Ed
