Does anyone have any good suggestions for a pocket (travel) Bible? I'm really just looking for the New Testament in travel size - it's cheaper lol. I have a little bit left on a Barnes and Noble gift card. I have two beach vacations in August and would really like to have one rather than lug around my heavy Douay-Rheims or my softcover New American Bible that's literally split in half with pages of the Psalms all over the place.

You know it's annoying because I have two pocket Bibles (New Testament with Psalms) that I can't find. I've gone through every drawer in my room, looked in the closet, under the bed, even in bins out in the garage that contain more of my books. It's particularly annoying because I have one desk shelf loaded with Catholic books but no freakin' pocket Bibles are in that collection. I have no clue where I put them. But I think it's time for a new one anyway. One of the NT is Catholic, Precious Moments lol and from what I can remember it's pretty beat up. But the cover is pink so automatic win. The other is actually Protestant, years ago a bunch of missionaries were giving them away in front of the high school and one of my brothers gave it to me because he could care less (sadly). That one is definitely in better condition - not only has it been used much less but the cover isn't softcover it's like flexible but more protective.

I'm going to Mass soon, going to hit up St. Anthony lol.

I found this one: http://search.barnes...e/9780899426501

I'm not sure what St. Joseph's Edition means though

razzle dazzle, thanks for the link!

I actually just found them LOL - I went to get something out of my purse and then it hit me, I used to carry the Precious Moments with me in my bag, so I went to the part of my closet where I have old purses and there they both were. The Precious Moments is actually King James...I guess that's what happens when you're like 10 and don't realize the difference :hehe2:

I've heard good things about this one. It's the Confraternity Edition, a 1941 revision of the Douay-Rheims New Testament, bound in vinyl.

I have this same one - it's great!! The zipper is nice because then the pages don't get all messed up, and it fits just about anywhere. Plus, the translation is the RSV Catholic Edition, which is also nice. :)

Thanks for everyone's input :) I don't have enough on the card to cover the one Red suggested (I'd rather not go over) but I've never had a RSV translation before so I just placed my order for this one:

Annoyingly it doesn't say pocket in the description but when I searched pocket it was one of the first in the list. Well either way it'll be slim and good for travel lol

Okay I found this image on Google so hopefully this is the size it comes as -

That is what I have. Very portable.

HCF, I recommend the St. Joseph Pocket New Testament for NT only.

I'm so glad I came across this post! Been looking for pretty much the same thing to take with me overseas. I have one pocket Bible and a few editions of the NT, Proverbs and Psalms, but none of them are great translations or in great condition. Hope to order one of the Bibles recommended here :) Hope you have great holidays, HCF!
