CRAZY DOPE POST, YO!

So, This might come off as an over reaction and I would agree if I didn't feel God's presence the way I did last night.

So, Last night there were bad thunderstorms all over the state. My dad was coming come from an area that had been issued a severe thunderstorm warning/ flash flooding. It was around 7:55 that I started to hear God tell me to say the Rosary. It was really strong but I didn't think much of it. I always talk to God. So, It seemed like he was nagging me "say the rosary, say the rosary". So, I said I would. Then I heard him say "you have until 9:00". This was strange. But I said I would any way. I though something was gonna happen to my dad since he was driving home in dangerous weather. however, when I started my rosary around 8:30, he come home. I still said it. As I was saying my rosary I stared to hear a bad thunderstorm roll in.

Get this, Right as I finished my rosary... and I'm talking, like the very last word, A HUGE Crack of lighting came down. It was the Biggest crack of lighting I have ever heard in my entire life! It came at 9:00! But this isn't the freakiest part. I went off to mass today and as I walked out the door I saw this:
See Attached file

The lighting had struck right outside my house. (btw, it's not in this picture but it made a tunnel underneath the ground and made another streak in the ground about 5 feet further. The streak in the ground is about 2 inches deep.)

. I bet that if I hadn't prayed last night something bad would have happened. I could feel it in my bones. My house could have caught on fire or a tree could have come down on my house... and from that someone could have gotten hurt or killed. Whatever it was God was definitely protecting my family last night. He deserves thanks for this, so I guess that's the purpose of this post. Thank you Jesus!

This just made me realize all the times Jesus has been looking out for me. I think he does this all the time and we never give him the credit he deserves.

Also, Thank you Blessed Mother for your prayers! I'm still alive! :saint2:

Super Props for your faith and trust that you cannot only talk to God, but that he will answer. Also don't think that it is only about important things. God loves to be involved in the simple things you do as well. Trust him, hear him, always!

CRAZY DOPE POST, YO!

Lightning struck outside my house as I was running into it once. Yay for being alive?

I'm more interested in faith that is full of joy when God isn't necessarily 'speaking' to us. Faith that endures through God's silence. It's easy to jump up and down when we think God has spoken to us in some way.

I guess my faith is a little weak I tend to hang on his words.
[4] Who answered and said: It is written, Not in bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God. [Matthew 4:4
I admire people such as Mother Theresa who it is said that never experienced such things.

Jesus saith to him: Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed. [John 20:29]

I'm MORE interested in giving joyful thanks to God for miracles AND in rejoicing even "when God isn't necessarily 'speaking' to us."

You're assuming that what happened was a miracle, whereas I would contest that it wasn't.

Throughout my life there have been very long periods where I felt alone in the sense of nothing beyond the physical. So I see 'Noel's' point. But I feel a bit depressed at the possibility that 'Annie' and I are defending our faith from another Catholic? I understand that there are numerous people who don't experience such things as believing God has spoken to them. (A miracle) It's a bit sad though that they turn off to the possibility. There are children who have apparently seen a Vision of Mary and physically and audibly heard her words. Children have very open minds and tend not to doubt what they perceive. Mid life when I was crippled by my disability, unable to work, finance a mess, marriage failing and on the rocks and on the brink of suicide, I cried out to God and had a thought planted in my mind or colloquially I felt in my heart that God was talking to me. Translated to words it was "Trust in me, my son!" So I did what you said and gave thanks and rejoicing to the strong belief that it was real rather than doubt and dismissal as imagination. If I may project I suppose having a disability as severe as yours you will know what we are talking about. Thanks for your input and support.
