(FYI: As the Carmel of Notting Hill and several other Carmels in the UK are 1991 Constitutions, they are under the local Carmelite Father General and he visits (and the novitiate sisters go out for formation like Faith did a while back) and other differences.

Kirk Edge Carmel and maybe St. Helen's (if they haven't changed) are 1990 Carmels who are under the Holy See so they don't have this visiting Father General (unless a parlor visit but not for the reasons they go to the 1991s) and their novitiate sisters do not leave the monastery for formation classes nor for any meetings of prioresses or novice mistresses.)

[b]Fr General’s visit[/b]

On August 8th, while the nation was buzzing with Olympic excitement, we had an additional excitement of our own. The Superior General of the Order was spending his holiday with our brothers at Kensington, to rest and to improve his English in advance of his visitation of the Province next year. He graciously accepted our invitation to visit and, accompanied by Fr Prior, spent over two hours with us. It was a very relaxed and encouraging visit. Fr General asked and answered questions, taking a warm interest in our own situation as well as informing us of general matters of the Order and speaking of the formation he felt was needed for responsible self-government on the part of the nuns. We look forward to meeting him again next year when, as part of his visitation of the Anglo-Irish Province, he will spend two days with the nuns of the British Association.

Thanks for posting, LG. It's always so nice to see Faith's radiant smile! I also wonder how Nunsense is fairing, but I guess we have to wait 'til November to find out ... oh, good, yet another opportunity to practice patience !

Yes, the blue looks sort of 'right' somehow even in the Carmel setting.
In the front row.....I wonder how she feels about that, she is quite shy in some respects and has always tried to hide at the back.
Didn't see the two newest Postulants, only Sr Faith and one other. Can't remember her name.
