Praised be Jesus Christ & His Holy Mother! The clothing at Rockford was amazing!! :nun1: cont. from here :)

She was glowing the whole time.. It was so beautiful walking into Mass in that old monastery church to see her behind the grille with the Sisters in her wedding dress  I was thinking it seemed like a scene out of the middle ages.. I wish the whole world could have been there to witness it. To me this is like the most beautiful thing ever!!

So there was someone there who helps out at the monastery getting some amazing pictures of her already. So I figured I would get her email, which I did :like: And it worked out because my camera ended up having problems and I only got a few decent ones (second one here is someone else's from a phone) But I will post a couple for now..as I know you are all anxious to see her! And for Our Lady's Birthday! The title here is from her letter to me .. that she was going to be a "little birthday gift to Our Blessed Mother" So..

The beginning of the ceremony in the parlor (sorry for the low quality) I forget Father's name but she knew him and he came especially to give her this blessing :priest: And if you look closely, you'll see she has a light blue sash around her waist. She asked to add that. Oh my goodness, I could use this word so many times in this thread, but it was soo beautiful!!

Then the Sisters singing processed to their enclosed choir for the investiture which we could hear from the public chapel. I tried to record the whole thing, but you can't hear anything but static. However, the young writer/photographer Abbie Reese was there, http://www.erasedfromthelandscape.com/ and she taped everything and is hoping to include it in a new project some time in the future, so she will let me know :)

So her new name! I know you're all wondering! She was too! She didn't know beforehand, as they do in some communities (like Valparaiso) And I asked her if she could pick it. She said she could offer suggestions on different names and titles, and Mother Abbess would pray and decide (Our Lord would decide through her) So it was two names and titles she picked, but she said she didn't know which ones would be put together.

So....

:bounce:

it is ..

Thank you so much for posting! She is just absolutely radiant. Her name is lovely as well.

Quick question, do you know if most PCCs have a title on the end of their name? I know Mother Francis was 'of Our Lady', but I don't know if the whole Roswell community does this as well.

Yes, please point out to us any additional pictures/footage as it comes along. May God reward you!

Yes, I've never heard of a PCC who didn't have titles with there names! I suppose it could be an option for them to NOT have them but I believe they all do.

Not all nuns use their title in letters or emails either. But again, I've seen some who do but not often.

I think the title is beautiful and deepens a devotion one already had before entering or gives one a new devotion to learn, love and incorporate into their lives as as Bride of Christ!

:cloud9:   .................. Speechless really! I don't know how long I looked at these pictures, and then came back a couple of times to look again, but they say so much. I don't think you could have been anywhere better on such a beautiful feast day. What a blessing! God reward you for sharing this with us. I thought of her today as I'm sure she still has "that glow", and that crown of flowers! She will probably be wearing it for a few days (or maybe they do it longer there.) I remember the day after having the clothing, you got out of bed and put the habit on (and no more postulant dress.) It was so special; no words to say, but I remember the feeling. I think I know what she was feeling, and I hope it always stays with her. It really stirs up a longing doesn't it?

Thought I'd post this here too (from another thread) :j Also, it's neat that she entered in the "Year of St. Clare" 800 years after St. Clare entered herself :saint:
She entered June 12th, 2011. I believe there are several reasons why it was postponed a bit, but especially because of all the events that took place there this Summer. First, she was given permission to leave the enclosure for a few days to take care of unfinished business before she began her novitiate. She signed onto PM at that time briefly in July and I happened to see her! :) So glad I did! She changed her profile a bit which some of you may have noticed, http://www.phatmass....coli-fiori-jmj/ Again she was not in the enclosure then. They do not have internet there.

But I believe the main reason for the timing was especially because there were big preparations this year for the Feast of their Holy Mother St. Clare, August 11th. This year 2011 - 2012 was the 800th centenary of St. Clare's entrance to religious life. The "Year of St. Clare" was officially April 16, 2011 (Palm Sunday, the day she entered) - August 11, 2012 (her feast day)

At Rockford they did many special things to celebrate this. All over the monastery were little displays about the life of St. Clare, and their life too. It was wonderful to see! And they set this up a little earlier actually for the St. Therese camp. I have been to that camp before and they did not have all the displays that had this time. And that Poor Clare cardboard cut out... she told me about that in her letter, but she didn't mention who made it. Well the ladies that help there at the monastery told me that she made it herself!! :bravo: She's such an artist! And it had a place at the bottom where you could fit your barefeet through!

Then on August 11th there was a Solemn Mass with Bishop Molloy and a big reception for St. Clare's feast and the end of the Year of St. Clare. And just looking this up online now I see that Mother Dominica was on the radio a couple days later. Her Reverence (using Carmelite terms here, I'm not sure if they do the same) was elected Abbess Fall 2011. Mother Mary Regina had been Abbess for three three year terms, twelve years, which is the limit. Mother Dominica told me she told now Sr. Mary Regina that she can have the job back after three years! :j also she was very surprised that she was elected, she said when one of the Sisters suggested it to her "oh, the Sisters wouldn't be that foolish" :hehe:)

So anyway, I think all of these events were the reason why her clothing was a little later .. and to have it on a special feast like Our Lady's birthday
