Been pretty dang sick today. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me. May you receive a share in the graces of my suffering.

I can attest to his sickness. I've been over here for a few hours and I think he has been awake for maybe a half hour of it. I don't think he spent much more time on his computer than to update this.

The "getting over the flu" cocktail:

Place 10 ice cubes in a blender. Pour apple juice to cover ice. Add a splash of cold water. Blend the living daylights out of it. Drink with straw.

BLISS

You might also try a little cranberry juice mixed with 7 up..... not bad.... and you can probably do the trick with the ice and blender, too.... Edited by AnneLine

When I'm not being dizzy all the time I might go get some 7up. Perchance. Right now we happen to have apple juice, so yeah. Works for me.

I am not sure I will be able to go to mass tomorrow. I am feeling punchy and less nauseated now, but I still get very dizzy and weak when I try to talk places. Wouldn't want to pass out in the middle of mass...

And if you even remotely might have the flu, please STAY HOME, don't give it to anyone else.

God has common sense -- stay home & sleep in....

Go for it. If you do, then people will think you are charismatic.

A team of researchers, engineers and dentists created the world's first prosthetic beak, which was modeled with CAD software and 3D-printed from nylon polymers.

A San Francisco company called Bespoke Innovations is using 3D printing and modeling technology to give prosthetic limbs new life as custom-designed, wearable pieces of art.

Talk about new ideas for using 3D!!!! Edited by AnneLine

I am feeling better by increments today. I did not wind up going to mass in the morning, but if I can be well enough to drive by this evening (really, of that I am doubtful) I might go to mass anyway.

I tried eating something today. Progress!

Well, I'm pretty much fully recovered. Still got some aches in my sides and neck from being in bed for so long, but I imagine some brisk activity will sort that out in no time. :)

YAY

Being "production manager" is a lot of weird stuff at once. Today at work I did the following random tasks:

1- explained to two separate levels of management the importance of abiding by copyright and image licensing terms
2- did last-second copy editing
3- took photos of playing cards
4- drew some illustrations by hand
5- captioned photos of trees
6- gave input about how we should begin migrating away from our old software base. (finally!!!)

I know, and it stinks to have to go back to work when you don't feel healthy.

But... as much as you can.... take breaks. Plan a nap for a little of your lunch hour (presuming they let you have one)... Be sure you eat well. Get to bed earlier than normal.

Treat yourself as you would treat Jesus if he were sick and in your neighborhood... 'cause he lives in YOU!
