Ah, I really love the Passionist charism.  They were one of the very first communities I ever wrote to, but Missouri seemed too far away to me then....Silly.

The vocation stories of some of the sisters are simply amazing because I was able to relate so very much to them.

Who gets up at 1:50 am?    The Passionists in Whitesville, KY do not. 

 

I read somewhere (can't for the life of me remember where unfortunately nor have the link) that this community is more stricter, austere than the others.  That is perhaps why.  There were other differences but can't recall - read this a few yrs ago.

Isn't this also the monastery where they shave their heads (like the SSVM do)?  I read about one that did and I am pretty sure it's Ellisville.  :think:

Yes, those nuns there shave their head. Other community of Passionist nuns just have their hair cut very short.

Thank you for the clarification about the 1:50 AM.  Next time I visit Whitesville, I'll ask the Sisters about it.
