I stand corrected!   I know they were one of the first groups to be very vocal about not wanting habits... but things change, people change, times change.  :)

Do you know what the girl's name is that is second from the right?  I think I know her because she looks familiar.  If it's who I think it is, she was a teacher before she entered.  :)

Nvm!  It is who I thought it was!  Her name is Katie, too.  I met her at a retreat.  :)

I know one of the postulants with the order, as well.  Her name is Marianne.  I met her when she was on retreat in August 2008 at the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus in Kirkwood, MO.  :)

To Jesus Through Mary

These sisters wear a habit/veil that is clearly fashioned on the older Maryknoll habit. Their foundress was a Maryknoll sister before creating this new missionary community:

They are such a lovely group of sisters. I have had the opportunity to pray with them a couple times and spend sometime at the abortion mill with them. They are a small order at this time. They have a heart for pro-life missions, especially in Russia. Maroon is the color for Our Lady in Russia. Sr. Julia (the founder) still wears the black Maryknoll habit. The color of their habit has always kind of struck me.

AL- I didn't know they went back to the habit either. Wild.
