Italian Nun Who Won "the Voice Of Italy"...

This is how she explained the curious choice of this song:

“I chose ‘Like a Virgin’ because I wanted it to bear witness to God’s power to move all things! I see it as GOD’S TOUCH, when he called me to a new life, giving me back the purity and dignity of being his Daughter and being Loved by Him. And that’s the way it will be till the end of time!” – Sister Cristina

Yeah, I didn't like her singing even when I saw her on the show. I mean, it was cool and all that a nun went on the show. I think it was good witness. But she has the problem a lot of non-native English-speaking singers have: She exaggerates pronunciations and notes. It's annoying.

I quite like her voice, and will be interested in hearing the album. Wasn't really excited by this song or video, though.

I did wonder about that actually. It would be nice to hear her singing in Italian.

What the good sister does is naturally a matter for herself and her order, but I confess to certain reservations about the entire enterprise.  It doesn't really raise the profile of religious life since the vast majority of people who enter it are unlikely to find themselves taking part in a national talent competition - in fact we might be forgiven for supposing that the business of competing in something like that might pose something of a distraction.  The making of programmes and filming of videos is the work of days, not hours, after all. As for the choice of song - :paperbag: Sometimes I think "Sister Act" has a lot to answer for.  I shall now go and hang my grumpy and cynical outfit on its peg and practise smiling at people :hehe2: .

I personally never thought she was that good. Her voice has a really irritating sound it makes when she sings high notes, and seeing as how she pretty much sings all high notes, it makes me incapable of listening to her.

I liked it.

The arrangement is a big improvement on the original, I think.

I like sister's voice alright. Madonna wasn't no Whitney houston you know.

the video was meh, but frankly friends, music videos are ridiculous and its difficult to shoot one that doesn't end up with something of the ridiculous.

Yes! From Youtube?

Use this code - though instead of rounded brackets, use square ones. [ ]

(youtube) then type the URL (/youtube)
