How Does Saying A Rosary For Someone Work?

Credo in Deum

When praying a rosary for someone, I first say the Apostles Creed and then list my intention for the rosary. After I say my intention I then get to praying.

I will say something like: "My intention is for the needs of _Name_ and that _Name_ may find God's will and follow it with love."

We're praying the rosaries while asking God for peace. Kind of like when you fast to pray for yourself or someone else.

The Blessed Mother knows your intention, and each Ave will be said for the intention of the person you're praying for. As you're praying, just keep that person in mind, and rest completely assure that Our Lady is interceding for them.

This is what I generally do. Or I'll dedicate each decade to a different intention.

Typically after I make the sign of the cross, I tell God that I'm offering this rosary for a particular intention (obviously I tell him specifically) and then I try to pray it with as much focus and reverence as I can.  I don't know if that's the proper way to do it but it seems to work :proud:
