I know there are some PMers who have hiked the Way, and I was looking for general advice on brainstorming a pilgrimage there. I am also desperate for guidance on how much it costs. I have researched plane tickets, and the lowest I can find is $938 round trip. I know I would need additional funds for food, other transportation, and shelter. However, I am at a loss as to how much to budget for these categories (really, for the whole trip.) I would also love to hear why this pilgrimage is popular and life changing for so many. I have done extended intermediate level hikes with a pack, and while the experience was truly beautiful, I would not say it changed my life.
