Palm Sunday and our vocation

Reading Pope Francis' homily for Palm Sunday reminded me of a special saint (to me) who took a monumental step in her vocation on palm Sunday.  As I was doing some reading in preparation for this bitter-sweet day (Palm Sunday), I was touched by the Pope's reference to her and his inspiring comments. 

We are called to follow Christ into Jerusalem, to choose to follow Him, even though we know it means the Cross. 

St. Clare had to leave her family and her way of life, no simple task.  Since even before I entered religious life, she has been an inspiration and intercessor for me.  Now, as I struggle with the trials involved in my life, I am encouraged, like her, to embrace the following of Christ, even through the passion and cross.
