Is It Wrong For a Catholic...

Say there's a Catholic in good moral standing, full fidelity to the Church, prays often, and tries to do God's will in their life. Is it wrong for them to trust that they will go to heaven when they die, or is that being too presumptuous?

It is right to trust in Christ and to pray that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. But God alone knows who of the saved will go straight to heaven and who will avoid Purgatory. Which is why the Church prays for the souls of the faithful who have departed this life.
