Here is the novice class of 2015 for the Eastern Dominican province (of St. Joseph). https://www.facebook.com/dominican.vocations/photos/a.570183369682468.1073741830.261227360578072/939783532722448/?type=1&theater

I suppose the other provinces will be making similar announcements soon.

Everybody post similar news you have from the orders you follow, support, and pray for.

The Boston Carmel - seven nuns - has received two novices this year. This community is in the Roxbury section of Boston, which is apparently pretty rough, but the nuns have stayed. Here's the blurb from their Spring/Summer 2015 newsletter.

"Praise God from whom all blessings flow! We have a new member! Aileen Chua entered on March 12. She is doing very well and adds new life to our community. She is also waiting for a companion in the novitiate who will enter on July 13. ... Does it need to be said that we are very happy to be increasing and multiplying?"

This is very good.  I followed them for quite a while and they didn't appear to have anyone in their novitiate for a long time.  They didn't update their website, have a newsletter, etc.   Very glad now. They have allocated some of their land as sort of a children's playground for the neighborhood, and have a beautiful statue of St. Therese in their garden which, when surrounded by flowers, is gorgeous.

Note: You may find the date on the article below confusing. They write in the format  day-month-year rather than the more traditional month-day-year. So this happened 3rd July 2015.The Benedictines of Perpetual Adoration have had a slow but steady stream of vocations for the last three-four-five years - I'd say two women per year or so. Now for the article.

PHOTO: Pia Jepsen (right) entered the postulancy of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration during Day Hour on July 1 in the congregation's Adoration Chapel located at their Clyde, Missouri, monastery. As per custom, Pia knocked on the Adoration Chapel doors, symbolizing her desire to enter the contemporary monastic community. Her plea was answered by Prioress General Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB who invited her to join the community in chapel.

The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration welcomed Pia Jepsen to their postulancy during Day Hour on July 1 in the Adoration Chapel of their Clyde, Missouri, monastery.

As per custom, Pia knocked on the Adoration Chapel doors, symbolizing her desire to enter the contemplative monastic community. Her plea was answered by Prioress General Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB who invited her to join the community in chapel.

Soon she was formally invited to join the postulancy and presented with the Divine Office books by Formation Director Sister Pat Nyquist, OSB. After she received the blessing from Sister Dawn Annette and Sister Pat, the community retired to the refrectory to share in a celebratory meal.

Postulant Pia, who is from Copenhagen, Denmark, will spend the next year of formation adjusting to monastic life, taking classes and learning the works of the Benedictine Sisters.

Passionist nuns - Ellisville, MO: This announcement is from February, referring to a planned event in May, which has since come and gone. I find no further reference to it, so I trust that it happened as planned.

After much prayer and discernment, it give me great pleasure to publicly announce that on May 6th we will welcome Hailey Pitts into our family as a postulate! Thank God for this exciting news, and please keep us and Hailey in your prayers during these upcoming months.
