Priest's unexpected past consequence

What if a priest had a child before entering priesthood without even knowing it, and just got to know it when he was already ordained as a priest? What's the right thing to do?

How am I able to answer this question? is it open to everyone now?

Look, if someone went through the ordination process the kid is *at least* ten (eight years formation plus two years they have to be chaste before entering seminary). The kid is already being taken care of in some way (mother, grandparents, adoptive parents). He might start to have a relationship with the child (as I wrote below) and send money to help.

More likely in real life by the time they found out the kid would be a young adult, possibly a lot older. Nothing would really happen, he would go on being a priest and the kid would go on doing whatever. They might start to have a relationship (assuming that's what the kid wants), meet every now and then for dinner or family events or talk over the phone or whatever. It wouldn't be prudent to wave the fact that he has a child in front of everyone but priests keep up with their family members and "personal" life on the side, so to speak, so there wouldn't be anything wrong with having a quiet relationship.
