Should Catholics Get Tattooed?

my local bishop told me better to not but if you really have to it is only a very minor sin.

No, because I don't want to account to our Lord my reasoning for getting a tattoo.   I would rather find other ways to express myself in an approprate way through art - sketching, taking pictures, writing, etc.
