Well, there was the Gulf war.

Nearly all the terrorists from Sep 11th were of Saudi origin. Much of the hardline religious extremism and finance comes from there too. Saudi Arabia maintains its regime with the tactical support of the US. Why is that?

Iraq and all those places were targeted because they created instability in the markets and limited access to resources. It had little to nothing to do with human rights abuses, terrorism or WMD's. We now know all that 'evidence' that was used to create the Iraq war wasn't true.

It's the Vast Right-wing Conspiracy, man.

Kinda weird to me how some folks rightly fault the current administration for its inaction while completely overlooking the fact that the actions of the previous administration laid the groundworks for ISIS. In both cases the government failed to act according to the will of its people. Maybe we should take matters into our own hands...pray, sacrifice, write, make phone calls, etc...don't let the media---from left to right---pull the strings.

Women and girls were raped and sold as sex slaves.

August, militants from the Islamic State abducted up to 500 women and girls from a village in southern Sinjar and reportedly sent 150 of the unmarried women and girls to Syria, “either to be given to ISIL fighters as a reward or to be sold as sex slaves.”

The report said the Yazidi girl who was abducted by Islamic State fighters when they attacked her village on Aug. 3 was raped several times by different men before she was sold in a market.

“Women and girls are brought with price tags for the buyers to choose and negotiate the sale,” the report said. “The buyers were said to be mostly youth from the local communities. Apparently ISIL was ‘selling’ these Yazidi women to the youth as a means of inducing them to join their
