For someone to go to confession, if the time is right

I know a Catholic who has not been to confession in about thirty years, but who has continued to receive Communion. Their situation is difficult. They are very close to me but I don't feel able to speak to them about it, for various reasons. I wasn't even born when the trouble began so I can't be sure I know everything that happened. I am hoping that in this Year of Mercy they will feel able to go and receive this beautiful sacrament, if the time is right. Please pray for them. They are a wonderful lovely person and a great inspiration to me in many ways.
