We will live on a house next to two communities : the Dominican of Prouille, the first female dominican monastery founded, and the Little Sisters of the Lamb, a franciscan-dominican community. Please let me know if you have any prayers intentions. I'll try to take pictures for all the dominicans souls here (not only the dominicansoul ) ! Everyone seems to go to Prouilhe but the nuns! The LIttle Sisters of the Lamb are actually part of the Dominican Family. They're not Franciscan. I can't wait to see the photos. There was the 800th anniversary of the dominicans, and in Toulouse this year there was a lot of conference about the history of St Dominic and the dominicans, so we all feel like specialist of it ! Woups, I'm sorry for the Little Sisters mistake. Haha, I've had no idea that our region had this history with the dominicans until the 800th anniversary, it was a surprise. But all the conferences, tour, etc... were very good, very demanding intellectually (but not in a negative way - but the brothers make you seriously think), and attracted a lot of people. Finally, I did it, and I don't regret it ! We were in a splendid house, the house of a member of the group. The theme of the week end was "fraternity", and there was a lot of fraternity. Except during the Time's up I prayed for your intentions, communities, vocations, and for the synod of the family. Here are some pictures : At mother house of the LIttle sisters of the lamb. On Saturday, we visited them, saw their mass, ate with them. Then, a part of the group went on a silent walk with them, but I went with other to buy things to eat. I was surprised to see some dominicans of the Holy Spirit at mass (they are traditionnalist dominican teacher). The church of Prouille was being fixed, but they stopped it and they are waiting for the justice decision. So the church is not really beautifull. But the village of Fanjeaux is sooooo cute !! Most of the building are from the XIII th century (picture 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 |"The old school]). We then saw the first dominican convent. The brother was speaking so I could not take a lot of pictures (pictures 6, 7, 8, 9). And then, we saw the Seignadou. Splendid ! I love this region. That's all ! Nunsuch Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Sister Mary Catharine, I met Sister Barbara a few years ago at a conference at Dominican University in Illinois, where we were both on the program (and shared the same residence suite! We spent a couple of hours chatting one evening--delightful. I've been on her mailing list ever since. She certainly is impressive, and also just a lovely person.
