Videos - Religious LIfe

I and others have posted videos from individual monasteries or communities, but I think it would be better to post diverse videos under one title so that discerners who want a first impression of different communities could find them all in one place.

So here's an 8-minute video on St. Bernard Benedictine monastery in Cullman, Alabama. BTW, the monks pronounce it BER-nard, nor Ber-NARD. https://vimeo.com/electricpeakcreative

Reposted here, from an earlier thread - St. Walburga Benedictine nuns, Virginia Dale, Colorado.

The video is produced by PBS. It's 7'20". The PBS page page has a lot of other videos about Catholic stuff.

Interesting note: Sister Ann Lee, who speaks briefly in the video, has a brother who's a Benedictine at St. Bernard Abbey in Alabama.

Here's a link to a 3:30 video about the Trappist nuns at Santa Rita monastery in Sonita, AZ. It was shown on the local television station as a regular Christmas-related news story. For anyone who might be interested, it shows the whole community of twelve nuns.

Sister Leticia

This video shows three of our sisters who were about to celebrate their golden jubilees of perpetual vows. They were interviewed during the lunch break of a province meeting, and they talk about how they have lived our charism and mission over the decades, and all that they have received as well as given.

This was in 2011 - so this year it'll be 55 years of perpetual vows. Mon (in the middle) celebrated 60 years since first vows last month; Mary (grey haired on the left) will celebrate 60 years in March, while Frances died a few months ago and celebrated her diamond jubilee in heaven... watch?v=QSOKaYQMXC8     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSOKaYQMXC8

Conception Benedictine Abbey, in northwest Missouri. Not a whole lot of information, but the abbot does the talking (so you get a look at him), and there are some very nice shots of the church interior, as well as extensive shots of the exterior complex and its setting.
