St. Katherine Drexel's Sisters' Building Complex to Be Sold

It is very sad to see these magnificent and historical buildings go - but good too and important that proceeds will go to such needed causes.  Prayer for the Sisters and their causes.  The sale of the building a massive decision and act of detachment I bet.

One monastery here (Australia) was sold and it was both beautiful and historical.  The oldest part of the structure was declared state heritage and the Catholic organization that bought the buildings and land have retained the state heritage portion of the building as the law requires.  Some of the structure was more or less more modern and were additions. To date, our St. Joseph Sisters of St Mary MacKillop (for one) have managed somehow to retain their whole historical structure and convent with beautiful grounds - most of the building is nowadays closed up as the number of religious sisters dwindle with many in advanced mature age..........the Sisters have listened to The Holy Spirit however - (see below).

http://www.sosj.org.au/being-involved/index.cfm?loadref=161 "The Sisters of St Joseph are vowed members of the Congregation. Today some people are seeking a closer relationship with the sisters to collaborate in God’s mission. These people have taken private vows and are affiliated to the congregation. These vows of evangelical chastity, poverty and obedience are taken according to an agreed Rule of Life with a Memorandum of Affiliation between the person and the Congregation. This affiliation is open to individual men and women who live independently of the congregation but are closely affiliated."

Just asking for clarification, it's not going to anything that funds Planned Parenthood is it?

What would ever make you ask such a question of sisters selling their motherhouse and ground to support their mission started by a saint?
