My cat is twitching in his sleep

Yesterday, as I was sleeping on my lazy boy, my big & heavy black cat, Batty, came up and fell asleep on the foot recliner and farted in his sleep.  It was silent but so deadly, the smell of it woke me up...

Selah--When your cat twitches, it is in REM sleep. I wonder what cats dream about?

When I first adopted my cat at age 2, she made noises in her sleep that sounded very much like young kittens. She had been a mother to kittens twice by then, so perhaps her brain was reliving those memories.

Now, at age 12, she doesn't make kitten noises anymore, but she still twitches.

I'm jealous--I wish I could sleep as easily as my cat does.
