Popes Honorius, Liberius, John.

Is that a definition of "The Gates of Hell"?.   Because if it is definition of The Gats of Hell, then The Gates of Hell did not prevail, did they?

I was showing that Popes do make mistakes.

It is similar to those who desire to attack and bring down The Church because of the shocking scandals some of our priests have been involved in, the heinous crimes they have committed against children.  These who do desire to bring down The Church because of those dreadful men and priests, dastardly criminals, who were not one iota following Jesus, His Gospel and The Church, certainly not their vocation and call from God either.

Such people choose to ignore the by far holy, saintly and committed, faithful and very hard working priests on all hierarchical levels including the Papacy that far outnumber the criminal priests at any level.  They choose to ignore our number of holy, saintly and committed faithful religious and other consecrated vocations in our midst.  They also choose to ignore the many holy, saintly and committed faithful laypeople - who work diligently and constantly in many ways for The Gospel, Jesus and His Church both within The Church and in the general community, within their families often burdened by the stress of modern life and many other stressful matters, including the financial, without any sort of acclamation nor recognition in The Church formally nor in secular life either on any level whatsoever.

In no way do I dismiss the virtue of these holy men and women. As you see in my About me, I know a priest online who has a great impact on my life and I came here searching for more wise people like him.

Jack, thank you for the responses but I shudder going round and round in circles with you yet again. :)

General comment only: The real world calls.  I am in a bit of mess here with work for St Vinnies to complete........and a new printer, copier, scanner that is driving me nutty, right round the bend (just changed the ink cartridges and it is insisting I have not done a print head alignment, when I have - twice).  I must catch up on the house here and the garden having taken a week off due to stress and the Housing SA fiasco.

Vigil Mass tonight:dance:

There have been similar things in the past, when someone used very similar arguments in support of contraception. You can see the CDF's response above.

2. Bishop Athanasius Schneider has a new interview, posted at Rorate:  http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2017/02/new-bishop-athanasius-schneider-video.html  This may interest @Nihil Obstat and others.

Thank you for the interview with Bishop Schneider:like2:.  I have only watched it half way through (12.30am here).  To date, His Grace is to me logical and balanced in his comments and not adopting highfaluting and obscure theological terminology adapted to the specialised few.  So far anyway, and to me, he is on the track of why I do hope and pray that SSPX will be legitimized.

I am totally loyal to Pope Francis and not considering membership of SSPX - no call to do so.

Stop hurling insults and listen, Pope Francis tells politicians

"We need to lower the volume a bit and we need to talk less and listen more",said Pope Francis on Friday...

Conservative groups have used this statement against him, by referring to his refusal to respond to a letter called dubia sent by a group of four Cardinals, who effectively wanted him to say that the Church did not soften its teachings on divorce.

One such group tweeted, "You don't get to tell the peoples of the world to listen, Pope Vulgarian: you sit down, be quiet, and listen to our grievances!"
