On March 25, 2017,
Brother Jose Luis Cortez
made solemn profession
at the monastery of Vina (USA).

Brother Jose Luis was born in 1982 in Fresno, CA (USA).
He entered Vina in 2010 and made first profession in 2013.

On March 25, 2017,
Brother Maximilian Pickerill
made solemn profession
at the [Trappist] monastery of Gethsemani (USA).

 Brother Maximilian was born in 1965 in Lebanon, KY (USA).
He entered Gethsemani in 2011 and made first profession in 2014.

On Monday, March 27th the community rejoiced by welcoming Brs. Simon Peter and Asiel Maria as simple professed members of the monastic community. May the Lord help them in their journey as they seek God in this holy place.

Novice received at St. Mary's Benedictine Abbey in Delbarton, NJ, on March 20th, the (transferred) feast of St. Joseph.

I don't know when she entered, but I learned only today that the Dominican nuns at the Monastery of the Infant Jesus (in Lufkin, TX) have a novice, Sister Mary Therese. She probably entered within the last twelve months but we can include her for 2017. Why not?

From St. Mary's Abbey in Petersham, MA: 

On March 18, Tim DeCourcey, from Massachusetts, was clothed as Br. Luke. Please pray for him as he begins his two year novitiate.

Last night, at Compline, Postulant Jonathan Piette became a Novice and received the name Anselm! (He is pictured here on the far left.)

From the Carmelite monastery in Covington, Louisiana:

 Sr. Cecilia Ann makes her First Profession of Vows on the eve of the Solemnity of the Annunciation, March 24, 2017.

From the Carmelite nuns of LIttle Rock, Arkansas - this is a community of 14 nuns.

 Recently, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord, March 25th, our extern novice Sr. Magdalene of the Son of Man made her First Profession of Vows.

From St. Bernard Abbey in Alabama: 

On Saturday, April 8, Br. Bernard Denson, O.S.B., was ordained to the transitional diaconate in the abbey church by The Most Reverend David Foley, Bishop-Emeritus of Birmingham. Br. Bernard is completing his priestly studies at the Pontifical University of Sant'Anselmo in Rome, Italy.

Well, good on ya' for noticing. You're the first person to mention it - I didn't even see it. But (perhaps) some years from now when she gets declared St. Mila of Hollywood, you can say you knew it from the beginning!
