An attitude to guard against

I read this recently from Abba Moses:

"The monk must die to his neighbor and never judge him at all, in any way whatever."

For any reason whatever. Anything. For good or bad. If the world and all that is in it belongs to God, then all is his, good or bad, and our only business is him.

It's staggering how much better of a place this would be if we pointed the finger at ourselves as much as we do everyone else. We're always constantly complaining about the wrongs of others but how often do we examine our own conscience?

I myself am definitely guilty of this.
