A new postulant and a new novice at Loretto Carmel. This Carmel follows the 1990 Constitutions and is a member of the  St. Joseph Association of Discalced Carmelite Nuns.

Thank you for sharing this lovely news. Sr Fiona looks so very happy and it is lovely to see her both postulants dressed in their traditional habits enjoying the garden.

Sr Marie Louise  looks lovely in her new habit as she enters the Novitiate.

God Bless them.

Loretto Carmel follows the 1991 Constitutions.  St. Joseph Association consists of monasteries that follows 1990 and 1991 texts.  Majority of its members monasteries follows the 1990 text.

Erie, PA Carmel follows the 1990 text.

This is out of date about Loretto Carmel. They recently changed to the 1990 Constitutions and joined the St Joseph Association. It is on their website that they decided to change and received approval of the Holy See to do so.

Addition to my prior post- yes, they joined the St Joseph Association in 2010.  But their website does not  indicate whether they are following the 1991 or 1990 Constitutions.  I assumed that all the Carmels of this Association followed the 1990, but I think now that I was incorrect.  Loretto previously belonged to the St Teresa Association and followed the 1991 Constitutions. rather confusing...

Their web site still indicates that they allow a  live-in period of up to three months for discernment. I think that this is only allowed in the 1991 Constitutions, not in the 1990 ones.

God bless their new novice and new postulant at Loretto Carmel.

Per Discalced Carmelites Website = http://www.carmelitaniscalzi.com/en/#/1

Under Contacts - Nuns - Select drop down - Nation, Select drop down - Constitution = US Carmels following the 1990 only includes Erie, PA.

This website, I assume is updated frequently particularly for cases on Nun's jurisdiction since the 1990 Carmels answers directly to the Holy See.

Three new novices for the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. Seems a very happy community with a high retention rate. Great pics here.

5 New Novices and a first profession for the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, who don't have a FB page and haven't been keeping up their website. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10160718970360707&set=a.395389465706.368154.633405706&type=3&theater

Always impressed with those who have high retention rates.  Makes me believe they really help their aspirants with discernment and have a great novice mistress.
