Online Discernment

It has come to my attention that a specifically Carmelite discernment programme has been added to the more general one on this website: http://carmelitesnottinghill.org.uk/a-still-small-voice/  Obviously, this will have a more limited use but it occurs to me that both programmes could be useful to a spiritual director accompanying someone discerning a vocation.

Sister Leticia

A few months ago I met a young woman who said she was considering religious life and wanted to visit a monastery. From what she was saying, I could tell she didn't really understand what the monastic/enclosed life really entails, so I suggested she spend some time with this programme. It certainly sobered her up! - and helped her to understand that her vocation lies elsewhere.

Ah yes, I had an email from one of the Sisters about them developing a discernment guide online. I believe they are still improving it over time. I had been in contact with them about some suggestions etc some months ago. I do believe it's a helpful start though. :)

I found this podcast by Father Gallagher about Discernment. In case, anybody needs to understand how to understand the movement of the spirit.

Discernment of spirits is rather different from discerning one's vocation though...
