Papal Nuncio celebrated opening Mass of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje

Hi guys,

I havn't been on Phatmass for some time, so I don't know whether this subject is as much a matter of debate as it used to be years ago.

To make it short :  on August 1st, the Papal Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrated the opening mass of the annual Youth Festival in Medjugorje, in the presence of Archbishop Henryk Hoser who was named Apostolic Visitor by Pope Francis.  Although this does not mean recognition of the apparitions, the event was significant : it's a very clear encouragement for the millions of pilgrims who have been visiting the place over the last 30 years. On Sunday 5th, the closing mass was presided by Mgr Hoser himself who also gave the homily in Italian.

Hmm...

No official recognition of the apparitions - yet a clear encouragement by the Pope's ambassodor...

I wonder what Pope Francis really thinks about Medjugorje and what's going on there.

Anyone who has read some of his declarations on the issue ?
