Wuerl forwarded the report to the apostolic nuncio in Washington, DC, the Diocese of Pittsburgh said Thursday"

That Wuerl claims to not have heard the rumors is incredible.  The rumours about "the beach house" were known to me, a dippy 21 year old RCIA candidate in the Archdiocese of Washington D.C., back in 2004. I dismissed them as a nutty right wing conspiracy theory, as did many, but the rumours were widespread.
