Either you don't read or you're too simpleton to understand.

Dope ISN'T a sin. The effects of dope causing a distortion of reality IS a sin. Do you get it? That's the sin, taking the dope to escape reality, NOT taking the dope. It's the intention, not the substance. That's why the Church doesn't necessarily condemn the use of marijuana and other substances (i.e. birth control) for medical purposes.

Smoking a pipe, if causing addiction that is not truely trying to be fought, can be wrong.

Recognizing addiction is a differnt story. If you don't know you have one, you can be excused from considering it mortal sin, since you have no knowledge that you have an addiction.

Pier Giorgio Frassatti, while smoking a pipe, if addicted to it, in that day and age, would not realize his addiction, and it would be normal. Smoking in a pipe isn't any better than smoking tobacco any other way. It may do less damage to your body, but thats not why it's sinful.

God bless,

Michael

I said ban it. But that is wishful thinking, I am afarid to say. I just want to to not smoke near me. People should be able to avoid smokers... and when they stand around a door smoking or in a "smoking" section it doesn't really let me avoid them. The smoke hurts me, I can't breath in it and it stings my eyes and hurts my nose. And I can smell it long after they have left. Cars are horrid. And so are clothes. But if people want to smoke don't let them do it in public places, make them go home. I should be able to spend a full day out and about and not have to inhale your smoke.

Im Sorry. Im Stupid. Its was 2am. My eyes are barely open, and I cant concentrate. Im Sorry for being unable to read it all, and take it in at such an hour. Perhaps you could make an audio for such a simpleton? I think that would be really, really nice of you to do, for such a simpleton? Would that be ok..ohh it seems im going on and on unnecessarily here, does that make me a simpleton to? If it does I whole-heartly apologize your grace.

If I could only be like phaz, I would be a sort of normal.

Please Help Me to understand, since being a simpleton, requires being totally stupid, I would really appreciate it, from your massive brain, filled with encyclopedia's of information that a simpleton, could not store..say I wonder if a simpleton could store more than 2 sentences, what do you think, your grace?

in the south of Ireland, smoking is banned in all public resaraunts, pubs and cafes, u have to smoke outside if u want to smoke, i think its a good idea, but i still dont like walking down the street and having a big puff of smoke blown in my face, i live in the north anyway, so it doesnt apply here :(
I think that if the Church told me it was morally licit to smoke Pot, I would probably do that too. Of course, it's not . . . so I would never.
My understanding of cannibis use is that there is no defined position. The Church states excess use of particular drugs and substances causing harm to the body or a distortion of reality is a matter of grave evil, i.e. tobacco, alcohol, marijuana etc.

THC, like alcohol, is a drug, and if abused is considered sinful. However, cannabis, like alcohol can illicit similar psychological and physiological effects as alcohol without impairing use of reason. Marijuana, like alcohol can harm the body if consumed in excess (short term or long term).

I'm sure I've read somewhere some very old Coptic, Ethiopian churches traditionally use Cannibis during celebration of the Eucharist. Not that I recommend the Catholic Church adopt this, but it goes to show societies perception of Cannibis varies cross-culture.

You are all a bunch of socialists communists. I seriously cannot believe you are advocating making cigarettes and smoking illegal. You all are terribly accustomed to a Nanny State telling you what is good and bad for you, you don't even know how good it is too allow people to choose the good for the good's sake, not just becasue the alternative is illegal.

Seriously, Thomas Aquinas, and those who believe in limited Government would be appalled with many of you right now!
