I think I remember her husband refusing to let her recieve the Sacrament of the Sick.  Was that her?

I think She's Catholic.  But I think her husband might be a "Catholic" in name only.  He's a wolf in sheeps clothing, in otherwords.  Pray hard for him.

Yes, you're right about her husband refusing her the Sacrament of the Sick.

And yes, she and her husband are both Catholic. But as you said, it's just in name only. He has a lover and an illegitimate child by that woman.

Jeb Bush did file a friend in brief to the case and was told he had no rights.

You really need to email the court system.

The husband gets a tidy life insurance policy as soon as she is dead , for him and his girlfriend and their baby.

THe woman has recieved the Sacraments previously.

Death by dehydration is not pretty.

You think all the old people in Florida would sit up and take notice.

I'm praying that if this heinous act does go through, that Terri regains consciousness and stays alive. This is just way too terrible and I can't believe this is happening. This guy must be begging for a ticket to hell.

God, a miracle would be really good here.

This, fresh in my mailbox from the governor's office. :(

It's gonna have to be up to God!

I'm getting off phatMass now, and gonna spend a little time on my knees.

"Thank you for writing to Governor Bush and expressing interest in the

well-being of Terri Schindler Schiavo. He has asked me to respond on his

behalf. The Governor is very concerned about Terri, and his thoughts and

prayers are with the Schindler family.

The Governor, more than any other state official, has a responsibility to

ensure that the laws be faithfully executed and to give a voice to the

citizens of the state. It is because of these dual responsibilities that

the Governor felt compelled to write a letter to the circuit court judge

expressing an opinion on this difficult matter and to file an amicus brief

to accompany the Schindlers' federal lawsuit. The Governor is disappointed

by the decisions made by the state and federal courts in these cases.

However, the Florida Constitution prevents the Governor from acting further.

Florida law gives the courts, not the Governor, authority over

guardianships. For that reason, despite his great concern for Terri's life,

the Governor has no power to intervene further.

Thank you again for writing."

I was just going to post my response, Anna. I got the same theing when I came back from EA at lunch, praying for Teri, Jeb, and us.

I live in Tampa, 20 minutes from where Teri is. Today, the weather is suprisingly beautiful. It has been hot and humid for months. Today, 80, not a clound in the sky, with a gentle breeze. Teri is near the beach. She is being told that No, she can't experience the love of God that is reflected in the warm sunshine, the smell of flowers in the breeze, the caress of the air, the sound of the birds and waves. Today is like living in paradise. What do we need to know God? The smile of a loved one? You should see everybody smiling today here! The sound of palms rustling in the breeze? How about the cool damp smell under a live oak tree? Teri knew these things. Does she know them know? Are they deep in her subconsciouis? What are the thoughts in her soul?

She's not dead, blind, or deaf. She is not numb or without smell. She isn't prevented from coming outside for health reasons. She can't voluntarily move her body, talk, or feed herself.

What have we become when we tell her, despite all this that surrounds her, that her life isn't worth living? Is it because we don't know what life is?
