I love to pray the rosary, but I dont know what days to pray the different mysteries. I just kind of pick the mysteries that I feel like for the day. I was wondering if anyone knew the mysteries for each day of the week.

I was also told by a professor of mine that a good way to meditate on the mysteries was to meditate its fruits. Does anyone know what teh fruits are? I have not been able to find them over the web. Thanks :D

I asked Jesus "How much do you love me?" "This much" He replied and stretched out his arms and died.

catholicflower,

The Holy Father has the following recommendation, which builds upon traditional concepts of which days to say which mysteries...

Joyful Mysteries - Monday, Saturday; Sundays of Advent and every day the week after Christmas.

Sorrowful Mysteries - Tuesday, Friday; Sundays of Lent

Luminous Mysteries - Thursdays

Glorious Mysteries - Sundays, Wednesdays; every day of Easter Week

Also, there is no "set list" of the fruits of the mysteries of the Rosary, but here is a traditional list:

Joyful:
1st: The Annunciation to Mary; Humility
2nd: The Visitation of Mary; Love of God & Detachment from the World
3rd: The Nativity of Our Lord; Charity
4th: The Presentation of Jesus; Sacrifice & Purity
5th: The Finding of Jesus in the Temple; Zeal for God & Obedience to the Will of God

Sorrowful:
1st: The Agony in the Garden; Repentance & Resignation to the Will of God
2nd: The Scourging at the Pillar; Mortification
3rd: The Crowning with Thorns; Courage
4th: The Carrying of the Cross; Patience in Adversity
5th: The Crucifixion & Death; Perseverance & Love of our Enemies

Glorious:
1st: The Resurrection of Our Lord; Faith
2nd: The Ascension of Our Lord; Hope
3rd: The Descent of the Holy Spirit; Zeal
4th: The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin; Grace of a Holy Death & Union with Jesus
5th: The Coronation of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth; Greater Love for Mary

I am, as yet, unaware of a list of the fruits of the Luminous Mysteries; should anyone have it, I invite them to either post it here or contact me. Hope this helps.

Yours,
Pio Nono
