cappie Posted January 3, 2005 Share Posted January 3, 2005 This article appeared some time ago, but the jury is still out as to the exact meaning of the song. the actual 12 days of Christmas is the Christmas season which begins on Christmas day and continues to the traditional feast of the Epiphany which occurs on January 6th. After the feast it became usual to take Christmas decorations down and put the crib away.
