Or your favorites!b Or....whatever, just post!! I live close to a very popular one, although I've never been there....it's dedicated to Our Lady of Charity (Nuestra Senora de la Caridad), and she is especially honored by all the Haitian and Cuban refugees here in Miami. Hope someone else answer's. I just think they're cool Churches (a bit more than regular churches, but a bit less than Cathedrals). And a note: when I say churches in this context I mean the buildings. Francis Seelos - his giant reliquary is here too, St. Mary's Assumption Church in New Orleans (this is the most breathtaking church/shrine I have ever seen in the USA!!) I thought they were places that had particualr significance, for example where someone had received a vision from God and miraculous things happened as a result, rather than starting life as a church. Some of them are really beautiful and have an amazing sense of peace. I'm not too keen on all the material trappings which you can sometimes find outside the shrines though. A number of the very ancient ones here in the UK eventually became places where religious orders were set up (I don't know if that was common everywhere), and convents or monasteries were established there.
