Guest Eremite
At the old youth group I went to, the priest who ran it bought pizza every week. Good stuff. Eventually, they bought a basketball net too. It was pretty cool because everyone likes playing basketball, and those who don't want to play can just chill outside.

stargirl3:16
lock-in: an event where a group stays the night in a building(YMCA, etc.) and does fun activities. May include music, prayer, et al.
stargirl3:16
Make a yearly trip to a Steubenville conference if possible. Know a lot of fun icebreakers and other games. Music and good discussions are important. And, of course, food is a necessity at these things.
FranciscanRocker25
try and make it a relaxed enviroment. youth groups that are tense are never fun. no one feels comfortable, therefore there isn't much discussion.

Philippe
ya lock-ins are way fun. Ive noticed something that we do that works well. first we eat pizza then we play a game to break the ice then the leaders do a skit thing that is on topic and they talk about the theme and topic then we break into small groups and discuss questions some fun nights that are broomball lock-in movie nights and ill think of others
StMichael
We just started one and it usually goes like this: - Prayer - Break into groups - icebreaker/ lesson - discussion (Q&A) (Begin or end with live music) Usually covers 2 hours Then onto eating (maybe pizza, etc.). Thereafter, games (basketball, pool, ping pong, etc.).
