OK, so Stalin screwed up. I still say that there is nothing wrong with Marxism.
How about:

The objectivization of people as mere tools? -_-

Idolization of the State so that it is the only truth?<_<

The denial of transcendant truth? >_>

The need for an oppressive totalliarian regime to free the workers?

Comparing a utopia to the Coming of the Kingdom? :(
(Even in a utopia the goal of society of the temporal relm is not the goal of the Kingdom)

I could go on and on, but instead I think that you should look up the Great John Paul II's struggle against communism.

So I take it that you are not Christian? Or do you not know the teachings of the Faith?

If you are Christian...
Either you don't know much about Marxism or you don't know much about the Christian Faith.

God Bless,

It seems more and more like Russia is returning to the days of Communism. Putin scares me.
Russia is in a sad state. Fortunately, I don't think it is a serious threat any longer. It's China we have to worry about now. With its combination of authoritarian government and embrace of free-market economics, and ever-strengthening military, China seeks to dominate the world.
Actually, the states of the former Soviet Union can be dangerous if there are unaccounted nucular weapons or weapons grade plutonium that gets sold on the "black market".

socialism is inherently evil because it necessarily denies the right to private property. period. Karl Marx is one of the architects of the culture of death.

I'm not only opposed to sovietism... I'm not only opposed to communism, I am opposed to ALL forms of socialism no matter how small because that is what the Teaching of the Church is. This includes socialized healthcare, because it makes man dependent upon the state and takes away his freedom more and more... not to mention that he has no onwnership over his own medical destiny.

oh, and they should completely abolish the social secuirity system, it's rediculous. plan for your own darn future.

True . . .
I think what I meant to say was that Russia has no future as a world power, while Chinese dominance is an all-too-real threat.

Anyone with access to bombs can be a danger in today's world though.
'Alas, Babylon' was a good read. They should make a movie about it.
Hmm. IIRC, that was frightening to read at the time too! Reading it nowadays might be easier.

You need a world-wide reality check.

Quick question:

Who is the world's largest producer of oil?

Russia
They surpassed Saudi Arabia last year as the biggest producer of oil in the world.

Russia's economy is growing back, and with a vengeance.

Quick question:

What advantage(s) does Russia have on their side in the coming 10-15 years?

1. They have their own ressource of oil, nuclear power, technology, and others

2. They have the world's fastest growing economies at their door steps, fuelled by the two largest populations in the world: India, China

3. They have at their doorstep, the largest reserves of oil in the world which is the single largest factor of economic and military power that drives humanity (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran...heck the middle East). That is second to the fact that they contain the second largest reserve in their own back yard.

The Russian economy has been growing back for the last 5 years... dont believe me... *smile* check it out for yourself... They are growing back... My fear is that they are doing so with a vengeance...

In 1970, Russia was the fourth largest country in the world, by population. In 1990, it was #6. By 2040, it will be #15, 36 million fewer people than 2000. Russia is a basket case. It's population is dying young, emigrating and not having children. The population is already contracting and it will only get worse. And the economy has grown in the last five years only because it fell so far in the decade after the fall of Communism. The current GDP of Russia is 3% of America, which means that America is about 33 times wealthier than Russia. The economy of Russia will soon contract along with its population. Stick a fork in it, its done.
That's why we are seeing the Ukraine and Georgia breaking away from Russia. It is just too weak.

Gee, what's all the fuss about? All I said was that I liked the idea of MRXSM, the idea of a centralized government with no political classes, yada yada... I never said I supported it in any way. What's the hostility?

Italy, Japan and Germany also all have regressing populations.

I will admit, that China is poised to become the next superpower, but I definitely would not count out Russia. How can you consider them 'No longer a threat' when they remain in possession of the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world? Including intercontinental missiles (which very few countries have, I don't even think France has any of those).

They are not what they used to be - granted... will they ever be again? - Probably not. Should they be counted out from the major world players - not in the next 100 years!

China is poised to grow out of proportion with the rest of the world... India as well... and they need all kinds of resources to do so. The number 1, most important resources they need is oil, natural gas and coal. Russia is the biggest producer of oil, has the world's largest natural gas reserves and have plenty of coal (USA has the largest reserve of coal). On top of that they share TWO borders with China and the two share a common history of communism. If China is going to be the next super-power, who do you think their 'best friend' will be?

Karl Marx's philosophy was built on the rejection of God. Militant atheism is part of the very core of Marxism. It is no accident that all the Marxist Communist governments were atheist, and repressed religion to varying degrees.

To even like such a system is not Catholic.
