curtins Posted June 3, 2005 Share Posted June 3, 2005 heres the deal: I have no problems with porn masturbation fornication any of that bad stuff- i have no struggles with it its not a problem for me. Id never do it. period. the thing i have trouble with is maybe getting into the gray zone- where its not so clear as to what exactly is a sin and if it is is it mortal or veinal. Its really hard for me to determine if being aroused is a sin when i am aroused. I dont go out seeking arousal- i know thats a sin and i wouldnt need to go out- i have a computer. but its like getting aroused for some of the lamest most stupidest things that i dont even get why it happens. somebody might say something and its not even like sexual it might not even have to do with sex at all- ussually doesnt. or like today- its 1 week til we graduate and already the girls are getting emotional so i mean they are all givin everyone hugs and all and i musta been hugged more today that all year and its not that i get really aroused when i give someone a hug- its quick hug and not bad or anything- but maybe after wards or i might think uf something that i really dont wanna but it just happens. all day i had this one girl who i know used to like me but then told me she doesnt like me like last week- all day shes hugging me and telling me she loves me- sometimes just the way a girl might say that like that gets you going and its like i dont want to i hate it but i cant do anything about it and nothing is consitant its not like every single time so and so does this- bam = arousal- no its sporradic it might be something or this its really hard to explain. idk i feel bad about it for some reason though- maybe my hormones are playing games with me or im being way too over scrupulous- idk thats why im asking you guys thanks so much and God bless Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is a demon known as testosterone. What you're going through is normal. In fact, for teenage boys, erections for no reason at all are quite common. I'm sorry it's such a struggle. You have to be doing something willingly in order to sin, and having a physical/chemical reaction to something is not willful. There's a rule for the scrupulous, written by St. Alphonsus Ligouri: if you're not absolutely, clearly, completely sure it's a sin, don't confess it.
