Noel's angel
You could still have it at the graveyard. A guy I knew had 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at his graveside. You couldn't have it in the Church though.
Fides_et_Ratio
my funeral will be all Gregorian Chant, and nothing else, not even at my graveside. ...which, thinking of my own funeral (in a non-morbid sort of way) reminded me-- did you know that priests have to submit to the bishop their funeral wishes after ordination? My pastor was working on his last year (/revising it)... it was odd, so he was trying to explain the reasoning to me. Very interesting. I don't know if that's a universal thing, or just a diocesan thing... but, interesting nonetheless.
Noel's angel
Hmmmm, that's not the case over here.
MilesChristi
did you know that priests have to submit to the bishop their funeral wishes after ordination?
Yeah, I remember a priest mentioning that in a homily a couple of years ago. He considered it a good, practical reminder of life's brevity.
